I bought one tonight, eBay - OBDSTAR iScan for DUCATI Motorcycle OBD2 Diagnostic Scan Tool IMMO Progarmming | eBay, $394.00 USD, ships from USA. The user interface and included hardware was enough for me to justify the dosh. I previously had bought cables, connectors and software disc for the JPDiag, GuzziDiag, whateverDIAG and never got it figured out enough to work. I'm sure that it would have done everything and more than what "we" all needed it to do (if you could figure it out) but it wasn't what I would call - user friendly. Hand me a gun (any gun) and I'll show you how to use it within 30 seconds of holding it. Send me a link to a download with vague instruction, ask me to spark up the internet, connect my $2.5k notebook to a motorbike, search within it's bowels to chase drivers and com ports, only to be denied because my tools are too current, then left in my garage to play IT doctor while my bike sits quivering on the stands... well, it's not for me - I'm just not that smart, I guess.

So, anyway... I'm anxious to see how this little device works.
+1 on the OBDStar Iscan for Ducati. I ordered one and it arrived in less than 10 days from mainland China. The tool connects and starts COMS with the bike with no issue. So far I’m happy with it but I’m still learning how to use it.

There are lots of updates, so make sure you connect to wifi and poke the “Updates” icon.

Another route is the app from Gates which is free. I used it to tension my timing belts and it worked great. Fairly simple to use as well. The app is called Carbon Drive.
Ditto on the Gates app. Free, and it works once you figure out a proper "pluck."
Once I had wrecked my nail polish doing it with a fingertip, I found a 3/16rds piece of ABS in my junk box and carefully shaped and polished it until it looks almost like a tool. Now at least I can't blame any misplucked disharmonies on my equipment. Like a sex or an oboe, practice makes perfect.

I don't suppose anyone in the Washington DC area has an OBDStar and would like to demonstrate how well it clears the oil service light on my 2012 MTS...

Since no one "volunteered" to clear my oil light I bought an OBD Star. $341.10 + sales tax delivered from within the US in 3 days. As an old tech adverse dude I am somewhat unhappy that there was no documentation provided with the device and the "instructions" emailed to me after I inquired "How do I make this thing work?" aren't helping me figure out how to "Make an account and download the software". I went this route instead of downloading the free laptop software (Guzzi/IAW/MelcoDiag etc.) to try and avoid as much "tech" as possible. And you also have to agree that the device can upload your data to their servers which annoys me. Makes me want to return it and just use my older bikes all of which have a high tech spiral notebook log to keep track of oil changes and other service done on them. I don't want to learn a bunch of new tricks or reprogram the ECU, I just want to turn off the damn change oil light (yes I changed the oil in a timely manner) and ride the bike. My truck, my wife's car, my daughters car and my son's car can all have the oil life light reset by twiddling a few buttons from the drivers seat in about 20 seconds. Why can't my bike be like that? That was a rhetorical question. No need to answer...

End of technology rant and back to trying to figure out how to "Make an account and download the software." 😠

Sorry, just seeing this. I'm in Herndon and got mine a few months ago. I would have gladly let you use mine. Anyone else in the area is welcome to use it also. I'm no computer person but I hooked the OBDStar up to my 2006 ST3 and just went through all the screens until I got the reset the service light. I did do the update first as suggested by TOP_DUC. One thing that stumped me was it took about 30 minutes to realize that I had to connect the OBD to the diagnostic port and also connect the OBD directly to the 12v battery to get everything to sync properly. I was incorrectly just connecting the OBD to the diagnostic port like I do with a car. On my Ducati I have to use the other cable to connect to the battery for it to read anything. Good luck

Well thanks, that's valuable information. Since it has a rechargeable battery I would have not thought to hook it up to the bike battery.

Yeah, the older bikes before OBD2 required power because it wasn’t supplied through the diagnostic connector. OBD2 powers the tool through the OBD port.

Did you figured it out? Ask a 5 yrs old if you don't succeed.

I think I have it ready to go but haven't had time to try it on the bike. My sister in law and her husband are visiting until Friday then Saturday I have to drive up to Providence RI for a friend's memorial service. I'll try it out next week. Thanks for the pointers. And unfortunately my grandson is only 3 so I have no one else to ask for help for a couple of years...😁

My 3 year old grandson was over to visit today so I decided it was a good time to try the OBDStar on the '12 MTS/PP since I would have him for backup if needed. It is not the most intuitive device. I had to manually enter the VIN and I had to say OK to the device warning me that I might make the bike inoperable by proceeding... but I did manage to turn off the annoying oil service light. No connection to an external battery was needed. Now I need to learn how to read and clear stored trouble codes. Sadly grandson Paulo has gone home for the day so I'll have to wait for his next visit to try and conquer that task.

I found seller on eBay who took offers. I had been offered that price after I started watching them but wasn't ready to pull the trigger so the offer expired. Made the offer at the price I had been offered and it was excepted.
