It sounds like you'd hope it would, absolutely glorious, like a racing bike. I recorded a startup video but the phone just does not do it justice so I deleted the clip. It really is an in-person experience. There are some pretty good YouTube videos of the V2/Akra, maybe I'll give it another try standing further back.
Concur. I actually put DB killers back in as it bordered on too loud. Still sounds awesome and way better than stock. Don’t want to be these guys🤣

Following. Which kit?
This one..

I ran across him from one of the UK based youtubers. I emailed him about a Panigale V2 kit, and he was super helpful and responsive via email. he told me they were coming out with a Bayliss specific kit, and asked me to wait for the test fit. they did that last week and put it on their website on Thursday. I ordered right away. Tony answered a lot of questions I had, made the film recommendation (you can choose which film you want), sent me an install video, etc..

We will see how it goes. I’ve watched several videos and I think I’ll be able to swing it. Main thing is I wanted tank and leg protection from gear scuffs. I dont like the way tank pads look, so PPF was high on my list.

The PPF kit came today. I’ve still been exchanging emails with Tony on the process. He’s been fantastic.

I went on and installed a couple pieces to get started tonight. The first one on top of the tank between the gas cap and the key, it looked relatively simple. Went on with no problems and was a good starter piece as it was flat but did have a bit of a curved area around the key cutout. I attempted the tank pad piece, the kit comes with two, a smaller one, and a larger one. I went for the large one. It was probably not the best second piece to go for as it required a lot of patience and work, and a few retries. I stayed patient and kept working with it and finally got it on wrinkle and bubble free. With that one out of the way and the experience on how to work with a more complex piece, I’m confident to go through the rest of the kit.

I think the key to installing this stuff is to do your homework, watch the videos, and follow the instructions. Don’t be afraid to lift the piece up and try again. Stay patient and keep working with it. The edges and curved areas that you have to stretch a little will eventually stick and lay down.

It’s fantastic stuff. virtually invisible. Super pleased. Maybe I’ll try posting a photo when I get the tank sides done, but I doubt you could see it in a photo.

I’m glad you have the patience and skills to do the PPF to your satisfaction. I usually get frustrated and give up when I can’t get it absolutely perfect, which in my case is when there is a small portion of an edge that I just can’t get to stay down.

Tank pads are my level of incompetence:cool:

Yes, post pics, I'm interested to see the coverage but won't be going this far to keep mine pristine. I figure abstaining from motocross constitutes adequate pampering.
:)
It's invisible and doesnt show on camera at all. You have to look pretty close in person under the right light angle to see the edge of the film. Take a look at the link, the photos have the coverage areas highlighted in green.

I know what you mean, and I fought it. Key I think is to keep trying, using the heat of your hands to help speed up the adhesive, and stretching where necessary. The instructions for this particular kit show you where to start and show the directions to work in on the complex pieces. It probably took me 45 minutes to lay down the tank pad piece and get it right. I just kept trying, and I also used the tip of using plain water on the edges instead of the slip solution to speed up adhesion.

Finished the PPF on the fuel tank. There are 4 total pieces on the tank. I’ve taken a couple pics to share but I dont really think you can see it. It’s not perfect, but you really have to look close and in the right light angle to see any blemishes. If you zoom in you might be able to spot the seams.

Ok, I finished installing the rest of the paint protection film kit. Definitely pleased with how it turned out. It took me probably 10 hours total to do the whole kit. The more I did, the better I got at it. The real key to this stuff is being patient, and working with the film, especially around the edges. If you stay patient, working with the squeegee , using your fingers and hands, stretching a bit where needed, etc. you will get good results. I followed the tips in the instructions well, reviewed the videos I was given, etc..

The first pic is a visual to highlight all the coverage areas. I installed the whole kit. The other pics are just a few quick phone close ups I took this evening when I got the bike out of the garage to look at in the daylight.

New to the forum and in Minnesota. My Bayliss was supposed to arrive January 4th, then February, now April. Still no shipping notice so I really don't think the dates mean much. Anyone else have a similar experience?
Welcome! When did you order it? Yeah, I think most of us have had the waiting game and no real solid info on shipping. It just shows up at some point.

Well, I got the call today that the bike just arrived. Just like that it "just shows up".

Hi All, I actually missed out on getting one. I'm in Australia and I'm a huge Bayliss fan. I was really upset that I missed out, but not as upset as when I saw two of them appear for sale straight after they were delivered. One has 7km on it and the other 150km. I understand people's circumstances change, but there was such a big waiting list for these bikes that if their situation changed and they didn't want the bike, they wouldn't have lost much... maybe a $500 deposit. I could be wrong, but I think these people are trying to capitalise on the purchase. One guy definitely is... his bike has 7km on it, nothing upgraded (stock exhaust, etc) and he's asking $5k more than the brand new factory price. I'm pissed off, because people who actually want the bike as a memento of the great man himself missed out on one just so others could make money. It makes me sick!

Anyway, congrats to everyone who managed to get one. Absolutely beautiful bike!
