Hi All, I actually missed out on getting one. I'm in Australia and I'm a huge Bayliss fan. I was really upset that I missed out, but not as upset as when I saw two of them appear for sale straight after they were delivered. One has 7km on it and the other 150km. I understand people's circumstances change, but there was such a big waiting list for these bikes that if their situation changed and they didn't want the bike, they wouldn't have lost much... maybe a $500 deposit. I could be wrong, but I think these people are trying to capitalise on the purchase. One guy definitely is... his bike has 7km on it, nothing upgraded (stock exhaust, etc) and he's asking $5k more than the brand new factory price. I'm pissed off, because people who actually want the bike as a memento of the great man himself missed out on one just so others could make money. It makes me sick!

Anyway, congrats to everyone who managed to get one. Absolutely beautiful bike!
I think you will be able to get one soon enough for less than new. They will start popping up occasionally.

No. 1206 finally arrived home after a long long wait. Only one in India. Ducati India honchos came down and did a whole handover ceremony. The bike is a real stunner. I feel lucky I got it in the end.

Many thanks - I am tempted to change the pipes, but the Akra full system is out of stock. Thinking of just adding Arrow slip on for now.
Ride it for a while. I really like the factory sound. And unlike many bikes, the factory system looks great. The carbon trim is a nice touch.

Installed an NRC tail tidy kit today.. I looked at quite a few of these kits from various sources. To me, this one really matched the lines of the tail the best. I can also say that the videos do not do the turn signals justice, they are VERY bright and noticeable, and the perfect yellow/orange color. Very happy. The kit fits very well and the quality was better than I anticipated.

I turned my plate outward since it's nearly invisible that way (though it looks cooler!).
Yeah. I tried it that way as well. It seemed that the angle flipped the other way was still questionable, so I went with the tuck. If I get harassed, I'll flip it. Great design feature! I live in a much less liberal area than you do I think.. Guys around here have been putting plates in ridiculous places with no consequences for years. If you walk back at street level, its still pretty easy to read the plate, so I think I'll be ok.

Not that I am aware of, haven’t received a notice (yet).
The recall is for the inner tube of the Ohlins fork. Funny though, I checked several Duc forums and no one reported any recall. I will take the bike this Thursday, will find out more from the dealer.

I have not heard anything. Mine is at the dealer right now getting work done. I could be a limited run of parts and your serial was affected? Post up what you learn

I put a deposit down on Saturday. I will find out Tuesday if Ducati accepts the order. The sales rep and a customer picking up his V2 Bayliss were speculating 1500 or 1521 would be the total production run. The Bayliss V2 bike that the customer was picking up was in the 1200’s.

Not sure how factual this is - just a couple of gear heads shooting the shit staring deeply into the beauty of the Bayliss. They did estimate 5 months.

Got the fork replaced. The entire assembly was changed as the Ohlins decal stamped on the fork was faded, and the inner tube had a recall. I don't think every Bayliss had this issue, just a few models.

Curious, did they accept the order ?

Just FYI, the suspension on these bikes is very stiff and according to my dealers lead service guy, spring for 190-200lbs minimum. I couldnt get a static sag at all even with the preload backed all the way out. FWIW, I’ve raced on bikes that were setup for 250lbs and they were more compliant even, so I can handle an over sprung bike if needed.

I had the dealer re spring the bike for my weight, and do a basic suspension tune. It’s much better now, huge difference. If anyone out there is a lighter rider, and you feel like you stiffen up a lot when the pavement is a little less than perfect, check into it. I like to be able to stay relaxed on the bars and not force input into them when it gets a bit rough. Setup is still plenty stiff and sporty, very little front end dive on breaking. It softened it just enough to feel like it actually has some suspension travel.. LOL Total was roughly $300.

Guessing all the Bayliss bikes listed on CT are just dealers trying to get orders and not actual bikes on the floor?

I see 25 listed but some say “taking deposits”. For some reason I thought these had all been allocated by now.

I suspect they are zombie ads. My dealer sold all 3 of theirs, the last one they had “extra” as they ordered with a name on it but not sold. Someone from Chicago snatched it up immediately upon landing and they had a couple buyers trying to get it. I got the impression it couldnt be ordered any longer. It would be nice to know what the final production run total is.

Asked local Ducati honchos the same question and got no answers. Was scrolling through Youtube yesterday and saw a video from Riders Motorcycles in UK posting about the Bayliss. They had no.1894 in stock.

Seems like an awful lot of Bayliss produced. But in the past 3 months, I have visited AMS Ducati Dallas, Ducati Austin, Newport Beach Ducati, Proitalia, Ducati NYC and even HSBK racing. Everyone of the dealers told me they received only a handful of Bayliss, and some had to return deposits as all bikes were spoken for and Ducati stopped accepting any more orders. Heck, my local dealer in India placed orders for 4 Bayliss and only 1 showed up (mine)

If I assume 1900 odd Bayliss were made by Bologna, where did they all go to. Its a mystery to me. Or is the number stamped on the clamp just meaningless.

Great question! It turns out they were not actually sending my order to Ducati. They had a list of customers who had already ordered / had accepted slots and they were banking on one or two of those customers backing out. So luckily someone else with an accepted order backed out so I got their slot. They estimated 1 - 2 months.

I saw the same V2 Bayliss YouTube video recently that indicated they were into the 1800’s. I am not sure how many V2’s they sell per year - but 1800’s sounded high to me - so I would guess most people buying V2’s in 2022 bought the Bayliss version. Obviously this number is a worldwide production number so I would be curious how many went to the USA versus the rest of the world. I would assume Europe would take a decent number of the allocations. My only reference point is following some of the Porsche variant production numbers. The rare models are typically under 500 produced in a signal year, but over a multi year run like a 911-997 it could add up. A 911 turbo from this generation could be 3,500 plus per year. So the rarity of the V2 Bayliss will be ok if they don’t continue to crank them out in 2023, 2024 etc. and we assume 1/2 went to the US etc. That would have them sub 1,000 in the states.

I had a CBR F3 back in the day and always wished I had the Smoking Joe Camel version so I decided I was going all out this time!!! Ha!
