I thought it would be cool to see if we could track V2 Bayliss owners and their number, as well as post pics and other discussion around this amazing bike. We can keep the registry in the first post and add to it. What number do you have? Post it and I’ll add to this..

I finally picked up my bike today. We had some good heavy rain the last couple of days and washed the salt off the roads. I went and picked it up, a bit of a chilly ride at 38F.. LOL.. I pretty much came straight home, but did get take about 5 miles of some back roads after getting off the interstate just to switch it up a bit and get a feel for the bike. It is super nice, I’m going to love this one for sure! Took some pics when I got home..

Thanks! Photography is one of my main hobbies. Those were just some quickies with a good lens.

This bike is so gorgeous. I am totally in love with it. It's egos aren't as bad as I was expecting, I guess I still have memories of my race bikes with raised rear sets. It feels really nice to ride, the motor is so sweet. I can't wait to get her broke in a bit and out on a warm day.

The silly expensive full Akrapovic system.

I went back and forth, the stock exhaust is quite loud and sounds good. But this bike was a spontaneous pure emotion purchase - truly my dream bike, makes me feel like a kid - so I decided to go all in, life is short, it's only money, don't hold back, WTH, etc. Another factor was the absolutely glorious sound of the Akrapovic slip on I put on my Tuono (the stock pipe developed a bad rattle, unfixable loose baffle), no regrets there.

I decided not to buy a $6K mountain bike so it comes out even. Now that I think of it, I decided not to buy an $8K mountain bike so I'm actually ahead $2K. :)

We had a bit of a warm up today. Was able to get the Bayliss out for a bit and start to learn the bike. Boy this thing sure is nice. I am tickled pink with it. Such a fantastic machine that really brings a smile to my face. It’s been a few years since I’ve owned a pure sport bike, I’ve had some good ones and raced quite a few others in the past. This one is truly special. The motor has a great linear power curve to it, handles really well so far, very predictable and confidence inspiring. Still taking it a bit easy but I rode spirited enough to know that its a fabulous bike. Cant wait to put some more miles on it. It’s a very easy bike to ride and quick!

Well.. after I put the first 50 miles on it, I can say its been above 6k.. LOL.. I've not redlined it yet, but maybe 9-10k a few times. I discussed the manuals 6k recommendation with the dealer, and their service manager. They are a very good service organization, build all kinds of race bikes, chad has a mechanic engineering degree, has run the place for 20 years. He said not to worry too much about the 6k manual recommendation, that with todays bikes it's not really that necessary. I'll still be holding back some until the 600 mile service, but I'm not babying it either.

Add mine #564
Full Akro
Evotech tail tidy and radiator guards
Tank pad
Pending: TWM levers, clutch brake socks, eazi-grip tank pads, throttle spacers

Don’t know what you guys thought but my rear brake pedal was way to high from the factory - would be dragging in normal riding position, had to lower over half an inch and re-adjust the free play 🤷‍♂️

It sounds like you'd hope it would, absolutely glorious, like a racing bike. I recorded a startup video but the phone just does not do it justice so I deleted the clip. It really is an in-person experience. There are some pretty good YouTube videos of the V2/Akra, maybe I'll give it another try standing further back.

The PPF kit came today. I’ve still been exchanging emails with Tony on the process. He’s been fantastic.

I went on and installed a couple pieces to get started tonight. The first one on top of the tank between the gas cap and the key, it looked relatively simple. Went on with no problems and was a good starter piece as it was flat but did have a bit of a curved area around the key cutout. I attempted the tank pad piece, the kit comes with two, a smaller one, and a larger one. I went for the large one. It was probably not the best second piece to go for as it required a lot of patience and work, and a few retries. I stayed patient and kept working with it and finally got it on wrinkle and bubble free. With that one out of the way and the experience on how to work with a more complex piece, I’m confident to go through the rest of the kit.

I think the key to installing this stuff is to do your homework, watch the videos, and follow the instructions. Don’t be afraid to lift the piece up and try again. Stay patient and keep working with it. The edges and curved areas that you have to stretch a little will eventually stick and lay down.

It’s fantastic stuff. virtually invisible. Super pleased. Maybe I’ll try posting a photo when I get the tank sides done, but I doubt you could see it in a photo.

I’m glad you have the patience and skills to do the PPF to your satisfaction. I usually get frustrated and give up when I can’t get it absolutely perfect, which in my case is when there is a small portion of an edge that I just can’t get to stay down.

Tank pads are my level of incompetence:cool:

I know what you mean, and I fought it. Key I think is to keep trying, using the heat of your hands to help speed up the adhesive, and stretching where necessary. The instructions for this particular kit show you where to start and show the directions to work in on the complex pieces. It probably took me 45 minutes to lay down the tank pad piece and get it right. I just kept trying, and I also used the tip of using plain water on the edges instead of the slip solution to speed up adhesion.

Finished the PPF on the fuel tank. There are 4 total pieces on the tank. I’ve taken a couple pics to share but I dont really think you can see it. It’s not perfect, but you really have to look close and in the right light angle to see any blemishes. If you zoom in you might be able to spot the seams.

Ok, I finished installing the rest of the paint protection film kit. Definitely pleased with how it turned out. It took me probably 10 hours total to do the whole kit. The more I did, the better I got at it. The real key to this stuff is being patient, and working with the film, especially around the edges. If you stay patient, working with the squeegee , using your fingers and hands, stretching a bit where needed, etc. you will get good results. I followed the tips in the instructions well, reviewed the videos I was given, etc..

The first pic is a visual to highlight all the coverage areas. I installed the whole kit. The other pics are just a few quick phone close ups I took this evening when I got the bike out of the garage to look at in the daylight.

Hi All, I actually missed out on getting one. I'm in Australia and I'm a huge Bayliss fan. I was really upset that I missed out, but not as upset as when I saw two of them appear for sale straight after they were delivered. One has 7km on it and the other 150km. I understand people's circumstances change, but there was such a big waiting list for these bikes that if their situation changed and they didn't want the bike, they wouldn't have lost much... maybe a $500 deposit. I could be wrong, but I think these people are trying to capitalise on the purchase. One guy definitely is... his bike has 7km on it, nothing upgraded (stock exhaust, etc) and he's asking $5k more than the brand new factory price. I'm pissed off, because people who actually want the bike as a memento of the great man himself missed out on one just so others could make money. It makes me sick!

Anyway, congrats to everyone who managed to get one. Absolutely beautiful bike!
