Replacement Clip-Ons

95 SSCR. When re-installing my forks after a rebuild one of the threaded bosses on the RH handlebar clamp snapped off at the weld. I've considered a direct replacement (I see some used on ebay) or a weld job. However now I'm a bit paranoid about the condition of the other side as well. Has anyone fitted Apex clip ons on an SS? It looks like the 50mm, 7/8" bar, 3" riser should bolt right on. And would be an upgrade in adjustability. Any other aftermarket replacements to consider?

Went with a Woodcraft riser bar. Looked nice however something I had not considered. The CR master cylinders will not slide up the bar over the riser due to the thickness of the clamp for the bar.

Any good options out there? I could possibly replace or repair the RH bar. Remote reservoir brake & clutch masters? I don't see another aftermarket bar that would not have the same issue.

Put a curved shim under the master cylinder clamp, raises the master cylinder, but still clamps tight to hold it in place. May need to use slightly longer fasteners.

I have the apex bars on one of the bikes that I am building but I am running Brembo Radials on it. did do a weight comparison and they are the same weight as the originals. If I was in your shoes I would weld them back up if you are on a budget. Only thing that you get with the apex bars is infinite adjustability if you need it.

Decided to convert to remote masters. Making progress although my work schedule hasn't left me with much time the last couple weeks. The levers used had the correct mounting point for the choke lever and for the front brake micro-switch. I couldn't find OE reservoir brackets but found a decent solution.
