Any body still messing with this? I loaded Guzzidiag and both the Reader and Writer for my 2001 M900Sie and copied my map and looked at different things that can be done.
Before I started flashing maps I thought I'd check and see if anyone has had any issues or problems?

JDuke, I am trying to mess with it, but I cannot make the reader work.
It connects for a few seconds and I get a log like the following before it disconnects.
Any ideas?

I've read other 5AM users are having similar issue too. Do you have the most current version of Reader? When using GuzziDiag can you change the selections under the 8 drop down boxes?

Yes I can change all 8 boxes in the GuzziDiag.
But how does that interfere with the READER?
I have read almost all the threads that have been written on GuzziDiag but I didn't find anything on the particular issue.

I believe 28640921A is a stock map. My 04 has a different number and is the DP Race version. I believe it starts with a 6 or a 9.
Once we figure these things out I can copy mine and let you see if it works with your bike.

Thank you very much for the thought.
Yes it is the stock map, which along with the open air box, DP air filter, open exhaust pipes and Iridium spark plugs, I found it to work the best way for my preferences. As a final touch I would like to modify (if and when I find out how to) the injection part of the map at the 2-4000 RPM range. I have already raised the value of trim a bit, but it needs some fine tuning.
By the way, I was given a DPmap from ChrisW form the UK forum, which I downloaded to another ECU, and testing the bike with the same modifications, I ended up that the stock map is preferable.
But to fiddle with it I have to be able to copy it.

Thank you

Punch, I will give a try that path.
Can you tell me if I need to change anything in the cable set up.
I have the blue cable with a red led, and I have connected the pins 4 and 5.
Will this set up work with only downloading and installing the FTDI driver?
Do you suggest Any particular version of the driver?

If you go back to the first page and work forward you will find real experience on which cable, driver, chipset to get/use.

I simply started this thread due to desmoreddy and have no hands on experience, as I have Tuneboy's Tuneedit in my 15M ECU.

It is "simply" something that interests me. I might even look out for an A8 15M so I can play too.

The other link I posted about the 5xx ECUs was due to the XDF experiences with 5xx ECUs so TunerPro could be used for mapping.

I tried to download the newest version of the reader for 5AM ECUs and for windows and my AVAST security programme states that a threat was found and refuses to download it.
Anybody else shares the same info?

Can you post a link to the file and I will try to download via my Mac and via the virtual XP machine I am running "inside" my Mac, which has Avast free running.

Hi Richard

this is the link.
GuzziDiag

and the newest version of the reader for windows

IAW5xReader V0.23 (5AM, 59M)
Mac downloaded the OSX version, but would not open as "unknown developer"

Downloaded the Win version via the Mac, but Avast refused to run the exe due to a "security threat"

Bummer!
