Check the site where you downloaded IAW Diag.
There are instructions for setting up and/or testing connection/connectivity.

A good thing to test is the Device manager for the Com Ports.
It will tell you what device you have.
Hopefully it is the FTDI 232 as this should function well.
If you have the Prolific Chip, something like CH431, which is reported to be common on eBay and Amazon etc. sites, then they can cause problems, which apparently can be solved by soldering a couple of connections in the adapter.

1. Open Control panel.
2. Select System and maintenance
3. Then Hardware and sound
4. Then Device manager
5. Then Ports (COM & LPT)
6. Find the one named USB Serial Port
Then go from there on finding what driver you have.

Good luck.

Glad I found this thread.

Decided to keep my 2004 M1000sie and I'm thinking I want to do a little tinkering with the tuning. I have some experience with Guzzidiag with my Tuono so I'm not a total newbie. From what I've read , my bike should have the Marelli 5m. Can anyone confirm this? Also, is TunerPro the way to go? What options are there as a tuner program? Does Tunerpro allow for changes to such things as rev limiter etc?
Thanks in advance.

You will have a 5AM or 59M ECU. That will be on the label.
To use Tunerpro you will need an XDF for your bin file.

If you use IAW Reader to read the bin file, post it heee by adding .pdf to the bin file and I will have a look to see if any of the XDFs I have are suitable.

I like Tunerpro as it is simple to use. The other good thing is that if you use Excel to modify the fuel maps based on logged data, you can copy and paste the tables from Excel to Tunerpro.
