Here are the 05 999 numbers (no R or S data just base model) as provided by Ducati in an email response Holy crap !!! I asked for US numbers....they gave me this....not sure if "california spec" means US wide. That would be a very low total US production and it would mean there were only two red bike -red framed 999 BIPs imported to the US. Doesn't seem right ...but that is what they sent me

999 California specs 2005 Biposto Black # 113

999 California specs 2005 Monoposto Red - red frame # 28

Monoposto = single seat

I call ducati north america and asked them how many 06 749R's were made. They told me 60 total. 30 for the states and 30 for the rest of the world. Some how I don't think that is correct.

Thanks. I found the data interesting. North America sales down from 2005 to 2006, from 8,269 bikes to 7,070. Still that showed me how few new Ducatis are on the streets in North America each year. If the US numbers are like the rest of the world (which they may not be)....only 20% of those 7,070 NA bikes were superbikes. So roughly about 1,500 in a year. That is a pretty exclusive number...no wonder I don't see a ton of Ducati's around here.

 

If you email ducati directly, they can probably get you an accurate number. They are pretty good about getting back to people.
