I ordered the flyscreen from Dart in the UK. It's well made, and I think they offer it clear or black.

The luggage rack is Ducati's own, sold as an accessory for most Sportclassics, and OEM on the shortlived 2010 GT Touring. You should be able to find one on online.

maintained the chain

A few weekends ago I scored a lightly used Harbor Freight lift table with a Herculined surface. For $150 delivered and an offer from a friend to buy it if I didn't like it, I had nothing to lose.

'Lubed the chain on the GT earlier this evening and enjoyed the luxury of a lift table for the first time... It went soooo much easier this go-around being able to sit and have the chain right at shoulder level. $150 very well spent for me.

Nice, I had planned on getting one of these this year for xmas. You can get them on sale for $300. That's a good price you got, especially with delivery. Those are pretty heavy. So how's the quality?

To my weekend warrior shade trade mechanic eyes I am happy with the build quality at this pricepoint. The seller said a common knock on these lifts is the jack and said one of the first things he did was top off the oil and it's been fine. Another knock is the surface is relatively slick. After almost dropping his bike because of a slip he herculined the top surface.

Knowing what I know now with how much easier a lift table makes things, I'd go ahead and buy a new one if it's on sale and you can also use a %-off coupon on the sale price.

Do you think it would work as a parking space for one bike? I don't have room to put one in a spot of it's own. I'm wondering if I could move it easily enough to put under the bike that I need to work on.

Yes. I believe it could work as a parking space. At it's lowest, the deck surface is about 7" above the floor

The back wheels are fixed metal ones and the front ones are smaller metal ones on swivels. If you have relatively smooth concrete floors in your garage you should be able to move the lift table around fine.

I don't have room for my lift to have it's own spot either so I park my BSA B-44 on it since it's my lightest and least used bike. Sits there on the side stand and is easy to roll it on or off as necessary if I want to ride or need the lift to service another bike. If your car isn't ultra low I have heard of guys leaving the lift in the middle of the floor and parking their car over the top of the lift. I have a MINI Cooper S so that doesn't happen in my garage. I also agree that the lift, even an inexpensive one like I have, is a wonderful tool. The ability to stand up or sit and do work as opposed to being down on my hands and knees on the hard concrete floor is a never-go-back deal for me. And the nice wide table is perfect for holding tools and parts. Do I wish I had a high class super stable pro-quality Handy Lift? Of course, but the $800-$900+ price difference makes no sense to me if you aren't wrenching other peoples bikes for a living.

Removed the forks from and packaged them up for shipment to Fastbike Industries for the Andreani cartridge install.

Shipping looks like it'll be more than I initially thought and adds another week to the process. On the plus side I'm learning more about the workings of the bike and I'm still coming out way ahead of what shop labor would've been.

While the front wheel is off and while I'm waiting for the forks the plan is to remove the back wheel and get some fresh tires for the season.

Replaced Cam Belts w/ExactFit TB1100.

Counted out my 33 teeth Vertical & 32 Horizontal. A few white paint pen marks later & there on. Have the engine turning tool, but dropping into gear and turning the rear wheel was going just fine.

Tuned to 99-103 Hz w/MotoRiva Cam Belt Harmonic Meter (Model MT-112)

When engine cold; all sounds normal. Once at temperature... Irregular squeak/rub noise heard. Let it all cool and re-strum the belts at TDC... All sub-110.

Did some Google searches and found some Duc forums where Chris @ CA Cycleworks stated it is a Pulley-meet-Belt noise, not gear strain. One the two wear together, the noise will go away.

After a few rides, less noticeable, but still there. Bothers my soul like fingers down a chalkboard. Not worth the $ savings, if it does not clear up sooner than later.

Re-checked tension 3rd day later. Still good.

Worth doing yourself. Loved the "pause" my thumb did over the starter, while I rethought everything, before thumbing her to life.

fresh tires

While I'm waiting for my forks to return from Fast Bike Industires, a friend in town generously taught me how and let me use his No-Mar tire changing station and wheel balancing set up in his garage. If the PR4 mileage claims hold up, I may be set up tire-wise for this and next season.

LED front and back

I put the FLEDA on last week as well as the fork wrap LED's from Chrome Glow. I wanted it to be symmetrical and have the front and rear look like they match.
