I've ridden sport bikes for the last 40+ years but last year I came to the realization that at 72 YO I wanted "something for longer rides that is more comfortable etc". I found a clean low mileage 2012 1200 Pikes Peak. And it is exactly what you want. A big comfy couch with a ripping engine that handles just about as well as any sport bike. Can't argue with the multi-time fastest bike up the mountain you know. Yesterday I went in a 273 mile ride with some buddies in the northern VA mountains and decided to take my Sport 1000 instead of the PP. It was a great ride and I enjoyed riding the S1K in the twisties...but I'm paying for it today.
