That'd require a rear brake that holds a little better than the Multi's.

 

For anyone wondering, i can confirm the OBDSTAR Iscan for Ducati works fine. I live a long way from nearest Ducati dealer (2,700km) and local bike shops had no capacity to interrogate the error codes etc and I wanted more self sufficiency for my 2020 950s (I do my own servicing).
The tool works well and also covers a bunch of Ducati models (model list is on their website) and can provide and record live data etc. I’ve so far used it on mine and a friends Monster 810.

 

Can you post a link to the supported list of ducati' on their website? I looked and so far cannot find it.

 

Funny that people start talking about this tool just 3 months after I invest in the Texa system

there again Texa does just about all bikes

 

The Texa system is no doubt the gold standard to have, but I couldn’t afford it and I believe there’s an annual license fee to keep it operational?

 

Through talking with my dealer, that formerly held the local Ducati franchise, he says that the SnapOn diagnostic tool can be used by non-Ducati mechanics for diagnostics. Ducati is required by law in many states to provide the software for all models excepting the current model year.

Of course, my dealer will have to charge me since that tool isn't cheap either.

 

I think the only additional charge for the TEXA gear is for updates after the first year

Is there any risk associated with the use of these scan tools if one has a Ducati up-map installed for the racing exhaust. Say I installed heated grips and then used a Texa device to activate them, could I inadvertently alter or corrupt the fuel upmap that was installed by the dealer. Forgive my ignorance please.

 

Thats a great question Jeff, I would not want to lose my upmap either. I would hazzard a guess there would be warnings before maps are deleted or altered. Likely a non issue but would be nice to know for sure.
