Hello All..

I am having a strange issue. I hooked up new LED blinkers for the rear and using the LED strips that work with the Acerbis Dual Road hand guards for the front. The blinkers work perfect front and rear, even blinking at the correct rate. The only issue is that the indicator on the dash is not blinking when they are on. Just curious if anyone has run into this or what the issue could be. All other lights are working correctly on the dash.

yea i had the same issue i put rizomas on the rear and some small leds in the front and the indicator wouldnt work.so i took my handguard signals and put them inside my tank shrouds near the hole in the side and the indicator on dash once again worked...it must be a draw in power issue the stocks draw more which makes the indicator on dash work is my guess.hopefully someone can shed some mor light on the situation.

If this is the case, and I don't know for sure, then resistors are your answer.

The dash has a setting for the LED blinkers. I think it covers it in your owners manual.

1. with key off press the up toggle button on left hand switch.
2. turn key on.
3. press the up toggle button to switch between selections. once you reach "SEE INDIC" stop pressing buttons!
4. press and hold the down toggle button for 5 sec. to enter the "SEE INDIC" menue.
5.once again press the down toggle button to change from "LAMP" to "LED".
6. press and hold the down toggle button again for 5 seconds to save into "MEM".

7. turn key off, then turn key on and check your LED indicator function.

I love when manuals yell at you :D

Mine is doing the same thing. I swapped both the front and rear with these little jobbies:

They have a resistor built in so I've been running in LAMP mode and everything works fine except for the indicator light. Memory is fuzzy now, but I seem to remember the flasher indicator working for a while after the swap and then stopping

Thank you MOTO BISTRO...unfortunately I am getting the same results as Jeremy. Went through the steps and got NEN, which I assumed was short for MEM. lol. Indicator light on dash still not working. I will try again tonight to make sure it is on LED and not LAMP.

Thanks again everyone.

I'm getting the same problem! LED signals work great...but dash light doesn't flash? I found this old thread. I'm hoping someone has found a prognosis or fix for this. Anyone???

I swapped out the stock rear innards for the led modules from a Buell 1125, (same case). My dash won't hold the programming switch from lamp to led either. Lights flash at a higher rate including dash. Planning on changing to the same for the fronts and adding the resistors.

For all of you who have problems with aftermarket LED turn signals for your HYM.

After installing aftermarket LED turn signals in the front, rear or both you might experience that
- the blink frequency of the turn signals is wrong and/or
- the turn indicator in the dash board is not working

This is due to the fact that the turn signals are controlled by the dash board black box which reacts very sensible on current and power consumption.

1. Check that ECU is set to 'LAMP'
-------------------------------

hold up the mode switch while turning on the key
scroll to "INDIC"
change reading to "LAMP"
scroll to "MEM" (on mine it says NEN)
turn off key

For the avoidance of doubt, the LED setting will NOT work !!

2. Calculate Resistors
------------------
see attachment, that is an example for 2W Kellermann micro LEDs.

3. Install resistors
--------------
The resistors are getting very hot. I strapped mine under the seat to the frame.

Good luck, it works.

I was chasing down another signal flasher for my truck. Parts guy asked me about LED lights, I told him they were in the future, then showed me a motor driven flasher, blink rate 60 to 120 flash per minute, but too few light load for my rig. Now if these would work thru the Ducati dash circuits, life would be so easy. Any one else heard of motor driven flashers? Supposed to be the new thing for LED flasher system conversions.

When I got my hyper it just had bar end led indicators. They flashed normal & the light worked on the dash. I had to take it in for an mot so I fitted a small set of led indicators on the back. Again they flashed fine but now I’ve got no light on dash. I’ve tried fitting bulbs in line, resistors etc but I still can’t get the light working on the dash

when i put leds front and rear on my 2007 hm1100 they worked but the dash indicator didn't - i now have 2 incandescent blinkers under the seat because i couldn't get it to work with resistors - its an ugly fix but it works
i could set the menu to lamp or led, but neither made any difference to the dash light

i wanted front blinkers but not the handguards, so went for some leds off ebay
i have an ebay integrated tail light which didn't have individual earth wire for the blinkers, so had to rig up relays to interrupt the positive voltage (because standard, its the negative thats interrupted) - then the dash light wouldn't flash, so in went the trail bike blinkers under the seat - as i said, not pretty, but now everything works
i seem to remember when i was doing this that the fronts needed to be connected, but not sure about that
you could connect some blinkers to the front wires and put them under the seat, but not sure whether it will make the dash light work - it took me a while to get to where i am
hope this helps

that’s the thing — my dash blinks fine, it just causes a strange issue in my integrated tail where it pulses my brake light when i use my turn signals ... i’m assuming it’s from not having front lights? and maybe it’s too much voltage? because i’ve removed the bulb rear for LED and previous owner removed the LED fronts all together

it could be - i had a similar thing when i fitted the integrated t/light - brake and both blinkers both flashed - but i think that was because of the common earth for taillight and blinkers - i think its a case of trying stuff and seeing if it works.
because the dash computer controls the blinkers and no-one seems to understand the logic of the controls, you just need to try and outsmart it

I had the issue with my 2009 1100S when I changed to aftermarket LED's front and rear. They worked fine, but no dash lamp. Changing the setting in the dash menu made no difference. I experimented and ended up fitting 22ohm resistors in parallel to the front indicators and 47ohm resistors in parallel with the rears. This was the only way I could get the dash light and indicators to work properly. It was pretty sensitive, even having the bike running to bump up the voltage made a difference. Different LED indicators may need different resistor values.
