Hi guys, is there a way to reset the service date on the display? Also, what is the red and black picture right next to the service date?
Thank you very much

I think that's a battery light. check your handbook, but that's what it looks like to me....

My indy mechanic can reset my service light no problem, he can also do stuff like turn heated grips on and what not so call around and ask, it won't be that hard to find someone with the right tool.

Colour TFT tells me you have an S with skyhook suspension? if so when you change your battery (if it needs replacement) you may get the warning that the rear preload calibration is in action, just let it do it's thing, apparently it's quite common, mine did it too.

Can do everything the dealer's Texa tool (DDS 2.0) can do sans the software updates and I don't remember seeing an option for the heated grips but you may have to install them first.

Looks like these only support european models. Thanks though.

Oh well. Let us know what they charge you, is that at a Stealership or garage?

Went to District Ducati in Gaithersburg MD. They reset "annual service", "Oil change light" and "Desmo" service time/miles.
$69.00 for the shop time. They didnt fuss at all, I brought the old parts to prove I did change belts/shim/plugs,etc. They didnt ask to see them.
Overall was a good experience, everyone I spoke to at the shop was very friendly.

They also mentioned they updated to latest software, I have no idea what version I had and what it is now. There was nothing obvious when I rec'd it back.

Interesting... that's kinda the opposite of my experience there. I live walking distance from them and I couldn't find anyone there that would give me the time of day. Glad you got the lights reset for a reasonable price.

Yeah, I was hesitant based upon some threads I’ve seen. The alternate was to go to montgomeryville cycle, the service manager said they too would reset lights even if they didn’t do the work. With travel time that’s like dedicating a whole day for one simple service.

I'm in the Minneapolis area, the closest Ducati dealership never called back or responded (no surprise), the next closest one was scheduling for six weeks out, and I finally managed to get a saturday ride-in appointment at the one two hours away and they'll charge me $40 to reset the lights and activate the aux lights.

For a luxury brand like Ducati, you'd think great service would be universal.

Hey Spence, What do you mean by "Desmo" you're obviously not talking about the valve service because thats a hell of a price if so! haha Glad you got it all sorted.
Norskie, What do you mean "activate Aux Lights"?

I still haven't gotten a chance to do anything about mine...

On my 16' Enduro, I could stave off the light for 12 months by setting the bike's clock back 12 months -- telling it that it's a year earlier. That works until it's two years later, and then it won't work. So you can get by getting it reset by the dealer every 24 months instead of every 12.

Not too bad really. Watch some videos, take your time. Take alot of pictures before your disassemble. I had to replace one closing shim. Installed new belts, spark plugs, coolant, oil, fork seals and oil, rear hub service, probably a few other smaller things along the way. I had all winter so I took my time. Probably have 25 hours in it, possibly more. I understand why it costs so much at the dealership now.
Next time I will be purchasing a shim kit, I spent basically $50.00 on a shim measuring tool and 2 shims. (buy one + and one - the size shim you think you need)

Also, 4 paint sticks wedged between vertical cyl intake cam and flat surface on head keeps the cam in place when removing the belt of vert cyl, there is no tension on vert exhaust cam. Also there is no tension on the horizontal cyl pulleys when motor is on compression stroke of horizontal cyl. (that is your "home" position)

And never mind the dot on crank lay pulley. It doesn't line up every time. The marks on cams are important tho.
I watched this one a few times....
