Just as general info, European MTS boards discuss the hole in the MTS swingarm and the possible dirt build up: http://ducatiforum.co.uk/forum/threads/mud-in-the-swing-arm.31948/

Some pics taken from European Ducati forums (not my pics), they are in the above thread link as well.

Have both versions of the swingarm cover (2 each) as planned and one should fit. Got some MTS service and preventive maintenance work coming up and shall post pics once installed...

Two (2) Versions?

I checked out the Shapeways site and only one option for the MTS 1200 was listed....was there a second source?

This seems like a VERY good idea to plug this hole. I'm going to order one. Hope it's the correct shape/size. The site "seems a little iffy", but am using Paypal so we'll see what gives.

Ordered both versions from the Shapeways website via PayPal and no dramas, shipment via UPS Courier out of Holland (Europe).

Only one version available now as currently shown on the Shapeways website, they updated and modified the design for the second version available now. Enjoy the installation and cleaning the inside of the MTS swingarm.

***no affiliations in any way with the cover designer or any companies manufacturing / selling the cover via the Shapeways website or other online retailers***

Not Yet

I got a note yesterday saying that there's been some delay and mine should ship in the next week or so....

The Shapeways folks seem to be pretty good about communicating so, for now, I'm satisfied with the customer service...

"Here at Shapeways, we try to be as open and upfront with our community as possible, so we wanted to let you know as soon as we were able. Each and every product is made to order at Shapeways, so sometimes we experience delays during the complex 3D printing process. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are doing everything we can to get your order out as soon as possible."

I ordered one and it came yesterday. Not to burst anyone's bubble, but I was unimpressed. It felt cheap and was made of brittle plastic. It did not fit tightly and seemed like it would fall out. I tried to flex the tabs out a little to make it tighter and they broke off. Maybe some will like it, but for me it was a waste of money.

Shame, I have two coming but thanks to your valued input I won't try bend the tabs.. How about we use some black silastic or similar - think that would work ok?

Edit: read last post first then saw TB has done just that with silicon

Thanks John
