Life expectancy of front OEM brake pads

I just had my 15k service done and there was 4.29 mm left on the front and 3.85mm left on the rear. " well with in spec" .. I ride it pretty hard FWIW
I had my 24k (KM) and I was very close to yours (could be the dudes measuring also). The invoice said 4.25 front and 3.80 rear. A couple of track days in there and one in the wet where I really abused the rear brake.

I replaced both front and rear with EBC HH pads as well as new v rotors up front.

The pulsing is from pad material built up on the rotors. Plenty of threads and opinions on how to clean/scrub the rotors.

Myself, I use an "SOS" pad and scrub the rotors inside and out. Clean with brake cleaner and ride until it does it again, then repeat. Changing brake pads (EBC HH in my case) helped but didn't solve it permanently but I didn't have to scrub as often.

I went to EBC VEE rotors and HH pads and haven't scrubbed since.

Your mileage may vary but that's whats worked for me long term.

Mine has 4800 miles on it. Bought it 4 weeks ago and rode coast to coast. During that trip, there were 4-5 days with at least half a day of rain. Ever since then, when I brake moderately hard (or more) on the front, it pulses a little. I'm no track rider, I seriously doubt the rotors are warped and the surface still feels very smooth.

Do you think being so wet for so long messed up the pads? It still brakes fine, but that slight pulsing feeling is a confidence sapper.
