Hi gents,

Still looking for my first hyper after originally finding an EVO SP and the deal falling through.

Anyway the EVO SP's are like rocking horse shit and as such I'm finding lots of 2008/09 1100 and 1100s

Has anybody had the chance to ride them back to back and also against the newer evo models (even non sp)

So more specifically, is the 1100s definitely much better than the non s in terms of handling etc due to the ohlins?

And how does the winner of that compare to the newer evo versions? I mean isn't an older 1100s going to be better than a newer standard evo non sp version or is that wrong?

I've only test ridden a standard EVO which was at the dealers so have no experience of the older 1100's or newer SP's so would be good to know what I'm aiming for.

I think for questions like this its important to ask yourself (and be honest) how good a rider are you and how are you going to use the bike. I am sure the S model handles a bit better and the EVO SP makes more torque/power but unless you are riding balls out on a track and you are a good enough rider to be able to utilize the handling and torque, does it matter? I know I am not, but everyone is different.
