1260S Sprocket/chain recommendation

Looking to do the +2 on the rear - question is do I need to get front sprocket and chain as well. I don't want to slide the wheel in and change geometry if that's the only way to keep the chain. My 2018 only has 7,000 miles and front sprocket and chain look good. It's way too high geared for me around the city and it seems like +2 rear is what everyone recommends. And why not just do -1 on the front and call it a day?
Also what's the best place to get the sprocket here in the US and what chain do people recommend - DID?

Thnx

It’s always been said to change sprockets and chains in a set. Chances are you’ll need a longer chain anyway if you +2 in the rear. As for the front, you might as well replace it as they aren’t that expensive. It’s my understanding that if going with a smaller front sprocket you are putting more stress on the shaft. Also on some bikes it changes the chain guide clearance and the chain cuts into the swingarm. Any reputable chain manufacturer will have a good chain. Just make sure to get an O or X ring in the proper rating. I’m guessing a 525 on a Multi. Also make sure to get a rivet style master link.
I will say that I have replaced chain and rear sprocket without replacing the front and have had no issues.

It is way too high geared! I had 15/42 and now I have 15/43. 3 more on the rear and 525 chain, DID ZVMX.

You wanna keep the front 15 teeth because that's already the smallest sprocket you can get without adversely wearing out the chain. I've been told a 14 is no good.

I like the 43 tooth rear and it's better than 42 to me, it does not seem like it can't cruise or do high speed. Redline in 6th gear is around 150mph, perfect. You will love how much better slow speed maneuvers are.

I forget the chain length, plus my bike is a 2010, so make sure to go to Gearingcommander.com, for your math and comparisons, that's an awesome resource.

I buy my stuff from Sprocket Center in CA. I call them on the phone and get an OEM Ognibene Monster 1200 sprocket, it's 525 with the red rubber ring that stops the chain whirring noise (it's actually loud & annoying on my FZ07 w/ an aftermarket front sprocket) but that's just me!

Yes 525 doesn't last as long, but I like the performance gain and I never have a passenger and it pairs nicely with the forged wheels.

My stock chain was spent at 16k miles, replaced with 525 set, replaced 525 again at 16k miles. (Probably had a little life left in it, replaced as it was start of new riding season)
I personally like 15/41. 42 felt too short for me on highway.
First sprocket change is expensive.
