I have some 3M and permatex numbers but I want to check first.

I just came across this today @ the local parts store: Permatex Moto sealer. Looks like it would work just fine. Good to 400°F, gray, etc.. For $8

It says it seals in 20 min. The 1215 takes a day but does give you working time.

Just throwing it out there. Next time I need some sealer I think I'll give it a try, but still have plenty of 1215 left so won't be for awhile - I hope..:D.

I have used pro-seal.. It's an aviation/aerospace fuel tank sealer.. The old way was two cans, part A and part B. It still comes that way if you want and is used mostly by home build aircraft. A&Ps now get a single tube with bolth parts separated until you mix it in the tube and put it in a gun.

If it absolutely positively has to stay sealed no matter what it is then clean it with acetone and a soft cloth. Wipe it with a tack cloth and apply tank sealer..

I have used it to seal everything from helicopter gear boxes to composite fighter jet fuel tanks. I saw how good aviation tank sealers were and started using them on auto, bike, snowmobile.. you name it for a gasket maker.. It never fails..

A local aircraft parts place should have it!

All about tank sealer.

I checked out a Subaru forum (required for them also). Perma tex 82914 ultra gray high torque or 3M ultra pro black. I went with the Permatex. This was for the sump plate/oil screen on a streetfighter.
