Well it finally got over 40 degrees here on a weekend (44 degrees to be exact) so I took her (2004 St4s ABS) out both on Sat and Sun. Both were short rides, like 15-20 minutes or so. This was my first time on her and my first time on a sports bike. I've been a long time cruiser guy (well 7 yrs anyway). First impressions…fun! Again it was my first time, the tires were real cold and there's still a lot of sand around so I was careful but its def fast and holy front brakes batman!!!!! I squeezed them nice and hard once to test them and I thought I was going over the handle bars! I have the Sargeant seat and I'm not sure if I'll keep it (still have the stock one). I felt like I couldn't stay back on it but instead kept sliding forward so that I was one with the back on the gas tank.

Anyway...fun, fun, fun. It doesn’t have the torque or rumble of my custom Harley but it is definitely gonna get a lot of miles when the weather gets warmer!

I can almost see that silly grin on your face. I know the feeling.
Give yourself some time to get used to her. I too was a cruiser guy a while ago, but a bike like these will convert most people, IMHO.:)

You may want to give the stock seat a try. I'm using the stock one on mine and feel no slipping or discomforted even on long days. The 04's on up, are marked improvements in the seats and the headlight system.

Good luck, and ride safe.
Yeah - I can still remember that 1st ride. The brakes are wicked, and the throttle is touchie, but you'll get used to that. It took a few rides to get used to the brakes- 1 finger is about all it takes.
Enjoy and pray for warmer weather.
I too was a long time cruiser, went from Harley Davidson FLHT to an 04 st3. I installed Heli bar risers and a Zero Gravity light smoke wind screen. The higher bars and wind screen make a world of difference. I went to Daytona earlier this morning for the first time. It is really an adult party, and I had lots of fun.
How can you tell a happy NE rider in the spring? He's picking the sand out of his teeth.

How can you tell a happy NE rider in the summer? He's picking the bugs out of his teeth.

How can you tell a happy NE rider in the fall? He's picking the leaves out of his teeth.

Here's to your new ride and carry lots of tooth picks!! Where did you get it?
