I have a 95 900sp. It has a pro-italia slave cylinder on it. Its leaking. The seal is junked. Not sure if pro-italia still supports this product, they're closed today. Need to have this fixed before the weekend. Found a new style stock slave cyl on ebay ending today, just wondering if it would fit my older bike. I've read that the new style were good for 2001-on, but it looks like it uses the same bolt pattern etc. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks

the slave cylinders haven't changed, as far as i know,
it is the clutch rod through the shaft which is somewhat
shorter on the older models, and some slaves
come with an extra extension piece for the older
bikes - again, as far as i know.

so you should either have got the extension piece
beneath the aftermarket slave on your bike already,
or make sure it is delivered with the new slave.

my engine is from 2003, i have no extra piece
installed, bolt pattern etc. is the same as with
my old '95 slave.

cheers.

Hi!
Just did the same mod on my '95 SS - the original was leaking too. The new style cylinder needs a longer actuating rod, but you can keep the original if you put a 8mm (whatever that is in inches) ballbearing into the new cylinder before slipping it on ti the acuating rod. I used a dollop of grease to keep the ball in place while fitting the cylinder.
Hope this helps!
