I am thinking of moving to 1098 bike for trackdays.

I had been stuck previously in the 996 era and achieved to have all my bikes running a wide track set up allowing interchangeability of wheels between road and track.

I am still planning to have a 996 on this set up so it would be good if I could hang on to all the wheels I have by moving the 1098 to wide track rather than stocking yet more wheels.

Do you also know complications that may happen when moving to wide track? ... as this is generally a cascading complication with airtubes that get in the way and what have you.
I think that the the steering damper mounts at the front of the yokes rather than the back on the 1098RS bikes. I don't know the reason for this.
