Thank you all for your informed comments to my earlier question?
so, here is another? did tamburini design any non-ducati; non-bimota m/c's ? He was close to yamaha, honda and kawaski in the early '80's...some say he was the "stylist" of the oval pistoned nr and that the early gpz/elr's were influenced by him...Others give him full credit for the Yam FJ1100 ... your learned comments appreciated

MV Agusta F4-750 (and 1000). Most beautiful sportbike ever designed (IMO). I had one but sold it; too uncomfortable, heavy and expensive ! Beautiful and fast though. I'm still not satisfied with the responses on who designed the 1991-1998 SS. I emailed Ducati but got no response :think.

I read/re-read jon thompson's book yesterday and although he doesn't say so precisely, the implications is there that 900ss was bordi's work

i spent time in the ferracci shop in 1990-91 when the 851 development was going on...i'm betting that he could comment on this...i've been told that the SuperLight was Eraldo's idea (to be called the superlegga)...he must have some knowledge of the 900sss birthing...i'll ask next time i'm in willow grove

i know of course about tamburini's efforts at cagiva/ducati/mv but have often wondered if in those bimota years, he was trading design work for engines for the KB's,SB's etc
Yah, Bordi was the best I could come up with from reading Falloon and Walker, but as you said, they never actually said that he designed the SS. I might try to email Ducati again.

I'll be there this afternoon for business. I'll see if I can ask him and post back.
