So I found out that my 900ss engine has more distance between the rear engine frame mount down to the swingarm pivot shaft.

Yes I'm putting a 2V in a 749 frame.

So two questions really. Which frame on the Super bikes had the elongated oval frame mount at the swingarm.

Second question is engine related. Can 2V piston cylinder sleeves and heads be mounted to a 4v engine block?

edit: I'm hoping our cases are like old VW's we could pretty much swap anythign around from year to year and make what we wanted.

IIRC, the 749S and R and all 999's had the oval swingarm pivot.

As far as the engine goes, I do believe there are some combos that can be put together, but there some big changes that happen around '98-99 with cylinder stud spacing on the SBK cases. Testastretta's all have the same spacing (unsure about EVO), but I can't recall if it is the same as the later desmoquattros

Well that gives me a direction to go in for things to compare.

This is the beginning of my little adventure. 848 forks just came in and 848 fairings and tank are in the mail right now. So just a few details to work out now. Pivot shaft alignment being the biggest one. Not tough just want to find the best option that leaves me with more options later. :)
