It's worth looking around for the tool Ducati used to include with the bike for measuring deflection. It slides on to the swingarm and has marks for min and max deflection. Before I bought one, I used a small piece of ziptie with the upper and lower bounds drawn on with a sharpie.It looks like the flat part then! I've looked around and from what I've been able to glean, you have to order the entire kit, with the c-spanner and all that.
