there was a thread a while back about whether or not the wheels from a 916 would fit on the hyper. i have searched for it, but cannot find it now.

does anyone know if they will fit? a friend of mine has a nice set of marchesinis that he wants to sell.

They should fit but check the rear for caliper clearance.

yeah, i guess the best way is to just try to bolt them up and see what happens.

if his front already has rotors mounted, does the bolt patter matter?

As a set the wheels of a Hyper are the same as a 848, Monsters S4R and S4RS, the fronts and rears will fit various, here is some info from the marchesini web site:

As a pair:

* Hypermotard 2008 TA71246 17" x 3,50" FA72164 17" x 5,50"
* 848 2008 TA71246 17" x 3,50" FA72164 17" x 5,50"
* Monster S4R Testastretta 2007 - 2008 TA71246 17" x 3,50" FA72164 17" x 5,50"
* Monster S4RS Testastretta 2006-2008 TA71246 17" x 3,50" FA72164 17" x 5,50"

Separate Fitments, Either the front or the rear will fit, not both

* Monster S4R 2003 - 2006 TA71150 17" x 3,50" FA72164 17" x 5,50"
* Monster S2R 800 2005 - 2008 TA71150 17" x 3,50" FA72164 17" x 5,50"
* Monster S2R 1000 2006 - 2008 TA71150 17" x 3,50" FA72164 17" x 5,50"
* 748/916/996/998 ALL TA71150 17" x 3,50" FA72164 17" x 5,50"
* 749/749S/999/999S/999R 2003 - 2008 TA71246 17" x 3,50" TA72354 17" x 5,50"

You'll definitely need spacers for the calipers, since the Hyper uses 305mm rotors vs 320mm.

Plus the width offset of the Hyper is an additional 5mm on each side.
