This is my first post so I figure I would do a little introduction.
My name is Robert and I have been ridding bikes since about 1996 when I bought me a 1994 Kawasaki EX500. After that I bought a 2001 GSXR 750 but I killed it at Deal's Gap in the middle of 2002. Aug 2002 I bought me a 2002 Yamaha R1.
Today I came home with a 2004 Ducati 998s FE. I have been trying to get a Duc since the movie Fled came out hahaha. I love the 916 body style.
I am a moderator over at www.r1-forum.com and found this place while serching to the Duc I wanted to buy. If the rules here are like over at the R1 Forum, you are not allowed to talk about new goodies without putting up picture. I am sure you all know what the bike looks like but hell with it :)

The second picture is right after I tucked her into the garage. It is a little messy but it is still stuffed with extra crap from the winter time :)

Greetings and welcome. You will definatly enjoy the 998, it wont replace the R1 but it will be just as much fun. I know quite a few guys that have R1s and Ducs...seems to be a good combo. Good to see you got the FASTEST color!

Hearty congratulations on your new toy ! It is argueably the most beautiful sport bike of the last decade. Hang around here and you will learn how to live with it's quirks amid the smiles . How to get the most fun out of it is all up to you.

But best of all, you have this great spread of talent in your garage. Like having a blonde one day and brunette the next. Lucky you ! Both a four and a hot twin.

Life is good.

Congratulations

As a new Ducati owner like yourself, I have to applaud your purchase. I have been glued to this site since I purchased my 996 this a few months ago. I had built a pretty good knowledge base with the Hondas and Yamahas that I had owned, yet knew very little about the Ducatis. You will definitely find a wealth of information here and people willing to share it.

Hey Love the bike!!! The red ones are the fastest!!! lol !!!! By any chance would you know my good friend Larry Cole (ducatiwv) on the R1 Forum? He is pretty active there and is well known across the country for his trick R1's. He has had 2 of his bikes in a couple of the motorcycle mags. Anyways, love the bike and take good care of her!!

Don't let these guys fool ya. They are being sarcastic and really mean that the yellow ones are faster :)

Welcome to the family. It's a great bike you have there.
