a friend just asked me what is an SP. so my question to you all is what is the difference between a SS and a SS-SP?
the bike in question is a 97 900SP. that is all he knew about it.

If you search the net for a 1997 Ducatie 900sp, one of the sites you get is below. Scroll down the site until you find the SP. It SP sounds good.

IMHO the '97 SP is the best of the pre-98 SS bikes. I had one for 30K and never had a problem with it. I mean NEVER. Took it from CT to CO and all around the East. Awesome bike.

For a direct comparison check this site out: www.ducatitech.com/2v/sp_cr_faq.html that will also give you a good idea on what to look for to make sure it really is an SP and not a modified CR.
