I'll Start:

I installed T-Rex front & rear axles and frame sliders I got off Ebay all for $122. Overall I am very happy with the quality, hopefully I'll never report how well they actually work.

I live in Nevada and rode to town, (Pahrump) and then took the scenic route home. For the record, it was 102 degrees in Death Valley at the Furnace Creek Visitor Center. Good times.

Neat photo! How does the air cooled bike handle Death Valley temperatures?
Thanks, I appreciate it. My Bike as a 2014 Touring S. I have some stuff to sell that wasn't on it when I crashed. I have the saddlbags, Sargent seats, the centerstand, a backrest, 3 windscreens, and some other asssorted parts. Stay tuned to the classifieds.........

So far, so good. I really don't expect any problems, a 2004 should be considered a 'modern' motorcycle, unlike say, a 1974 bike. I like that my bike is 'old' in the ever-changing world of motorcycles, it's nice to be able to work on it myself. (and I have) It has handled everything out here so far, a daily ride can easily have a 3,000 foot elevation change. Like I say, so far, so good.
Tried for my first ride after resurrecting a dead 2004 1000DS that has been sitting for 3 years. Ive replaced the fuel pump, injectors, plugs, oil, brake/clutch fluid and crankshaft position sensor. Was going for a first ride but once warm the beast will not idle and reluctant to restart. Thought better of the ride so parked it and will be diving into the service manual to see if I can address the issue on my own.
Sigh.
I was really looking forwards to the ride.

There’s a lot to like about “older” motorcycles from a maintenance perspective. I had a ’92 R100GS that was dead easy to work on…and it rarely needed work.

I have no advice, but am wishing you good luck with your bike.
Installed the Shift Tech quick release gas cap so I don't have to dig out my key when I'm filling up. Plus it looks cool, nevermind that you can't see it most the time since I run a tank bag.

This morning, I drove my MTS anxiously for about 20km to the mechanic :-(.
The engine is shaking a lot, hiccups when I maintain speed or increase slowly and sometimes accelerates and decelerates without me changing the throttle position.
Air filter and spark plugs were replaced less than 1000km ago.
Maybe it's just a faulty throttle sensor...
Best regards.
Random acceleration and deceleration - yikes!

I got a new rear tire mounted and installed. I went with Pirelli Angel ST's, I got a good price on a front/rear set. The key pieces for this job were my new Ryobi 1/2" impact gun, a SpeedyMoto axle nut, the Pitbull rear lift, and a 1/2" torque wrench from Amazon Basics. To me, the job was much easier than all the reading and YouTube videos made it out to be.

I bought a 2014 "S" last year with only 4k miles on it with all 3 hard bags. Original tires on it too. I changed every fluid, did timing belt, and put Continental Trail Attacks on there. I added the Tuneboy tune & cruse, the main reason I even bought this bike was the ability to add cruise, and, it was extremely cheap! Love picking up a perfect used bike at a bargain price.

I rode it from Seattle to Las Vegas and back last week, thru the California Sierras, Death Valley, Up through Utah, Idaho, Oregon, and home. The bike never gave me a problem.

This is my 4th Ducati and probably the best one yet. Looking forward to riding more and reading and writing here.

I bought a Park N Move for my bike because garage space is super tight and I got tired of banging the mirror against the wall when trying to get the bike just right. Not cheap but super useful in my case.

Before vs after.

Is it hard to get up on the center stand?

I'm from Seattle, born and raised. I live in Nevada now, outside Las Vegas. Go Mariners!

It’s more difficult than without the dolly but I was able to do it with a pair of crocs on. I have a couple 3/4” pieces of wood I planned to put the bike on to make getting it on the dolly easier but they were unnecessary.

There are other dolly’s out there but this one is so low to the ground, it’s nearly unbelievable. It’s designed to support a Goldwing. You do need really smooth pavement so it’s fine in the garage.

Go M's, Kraken too! I can tell you that 395 into Death Valley ride was one of my favorites ever. Then out the Lake Mead Rec area. I grew up in Las Vegas and I remember camping on the lake and at Valley of Fire St. Park, I still love it out there.

Ah that’s really nice. The one I had was definitely not that low and was impossible to get my vfr up on it.
I stopped by the Ducati dealer today to pick up oil change stuff. There was a guy taking delivery of a new Panigale V4R, and two more on the showroom floor had "SOLD" signs on them. I felt like a peasant riding away on my Multistrada V4S. :ROFLMAO:

Had a great ride with friends yesterday. Probably about 250 miles or so. :D

Last 6 miles coming home came through probably the worst rain storm I’ve ever been in. Park the bike on the side stand and notice brown water coming off the bottom of the stator cover. :cautious: Oil level was at the top mark in the window when I left for my ride. Now it’s at the bottom. I assume (for now) it’s the same issue others have had that led to a water pump/housing replacement. Just ticked over 3,000 miles on the bike.
