Well, I found a spot that is 2 miles straight with no one.
I thought that I could try WFO open in 3rd.
AT nearly 50 yrs old I simply could not manage to hold on to redline. Before the flaming starts of what a wuss I am:D
I still can't believe how friggin fast this is:eek:

A very impressive machine, incredibly smooth, solid, sophisticated and stupid fast.

Speed shifter is fun!

My goal by Friday when I return it is to grow my yarbles and beat this German up.

Wuss? Just a couple weeks ago, I found out that my ST hits the rev limiter in 3rd at about 110mph.

Of course it was an on ramp and I was looking for a release. :D

Sounds like a badass Beemer. Is the speed shifter a stock item?

Have a good one.
Option I believe.
It has the EAS, ABS and traction control as well.
It does make you wonder what is enough???

Strange is, it is very civilized and one would never know from its good behavior the hooligan it can be.
Big bore in line fours are full of grunt and acceleration and can be a lot of fun, for a while. Watch out for your license!! (Been up to Budd's lately? What's up with their Motorrad division? Seems to be shrinking to say the least. Being stuffed upstairs, in the back corrner of that multiple million dollar showroom can't be a good sign)

I know what you're saying. I'm fairly thrilled that the ST I found was an 01 withou an immobilizer. I'd like to take an ABS ST for a spin sometime, but I like simplicity.

We were just talking the other day about the true cost of a wire bundle in a car, say the addition of a daylight sensor for headlamps. Of course it isn't the only change or addition, but consider the amount of crash structure that has to be considered for the additional weight. Then, the suspension, power, and other considerations. No wonder the average car weighs more than 2tons with all those bushings.
Stryder, I understand Budds is doing well.
My wife and I ran the BMW offroad demos at Mosport this weekend and I understand they sold three bikes on Monday.

3rd gear, almost redline, 195kmh.I'll take this goliath back Friday, put my rotors on the ST4S and have a license.:D

What did you demo? Good to know Budd's is doing well. Great parts dept.

Good thing you were on a closed road. ;) Keeping your license is a good thing. :) Those big block I-4's grunt monsters are seductive, especially if they have a great chassis since you gotta really push them to get the bike to feel "alive." LOL!! :)

Bmw hires us to run the demo. My wife is, was, a top enduro rider and its a kicker having her lead a bunch of guys out when she is on the 1200Adventure.
We had 450s,650s, 800s, 1200s and 1200adventures.

I ended up doing 21 runs so near the end I was happy when a 450 was left:D, I'm not in as good shape as I thought.

Crickey. That's a lot of legs.

Have a good one.

That is exactly what I like about the ST. You saw it in that other thread. These are hooligans wrapped in some fairings.

After having mine just over a year now, I am still as happy as I was on that first seductive ride.

Sounds like you are indeed in good shape to have gone out 21 times!!! I think I'd have been cooked after 3!. LOL :)
I dropped off the K1300S this morning ang hopped back on the ST4S.
My wife called and asks how is it back on my own bike.
I could only say one thing "SLOW, VERY SLOW"

In a few days it will be fast again, I have a bad memory:D
