For those that do their own valve adjustments, what is a good tool to measure the gap? I've been looking around locally at feeler gauges and can't find anything that can measure down to .002" or less. Or do I not need a gauge that will measure that small of a gap?

+1. I have the same set. The angled end and narrow profile are perfect for the tight access of the 4V bikes.

I use a basic fan deck type feeler guage set that you can buy from any auto parts store. I have 2 sets and they were each in the $5 range.

Regarding the type of feeler gauges the desmo is a great kit, but I have had fine luck with some older angle variety that I used on cars. You will not need anything at .002 or below. Most will be around .006. If you do a search there are several instructional write ups if this is your first time. I did one earlier this year that may help as well. Basically, do your research, go slow, and have fun.
