Can anyone give the the valve face angles for a '99 900ss? I am getting ready to do the valves and would like to have the tooling in place before I remove the heads. I am thinking they are probably 45 deg, but need to know for sure.
Also, any tips or tricks on lead in angles based on experience would be appreciated. I am currently thinking 60 deg lead in, 15 deg top narrowing cut. If anyone knows anything different, please let me know.
Thanks bud.... Also, do you know what size pilots I will need? I plan on using Neway cutters as I have had good results in the past with them on smaller valves.
Start with an 8mm or use one of the adjustable pilots. The only PIA with those is every time you take it out and reinstall you may not be concentric with the last cut. I think there are some tapered pilots out there too. You may also have to reposition the center[the hex part] in the cutter as the bowl is shallow and the guide sticks pretty far up toward the seat not allowing the cutters to hit the seats.
