Hi All
Just joined (again) after a long hiatus. Picked up a 2015 Multistras S that is lightly used. I actually have one question that I'm hoping to find an answer for - I read through several threads but I'm still unclear about the importance of the Upmap Key for the termi system. The bike I'm buying is used from a Ducati dealer, it has a full termi system on it but no USB Upmap key. Am I going to need this in the future for any reason? The dealer seemed to think the only reason I would need it would be to go back to the stock exhaust (which I would not do). I'm not sure about this though. Any input would be appreciated.
thx

He's right but just make sure the bike has the upmap installed.

Thanks for the replies - I appreciate the help ! As far as I understand there is no way to tell if the upmap was installed on my own ? I would have to ask the dealer to check ?
You know the upmap is installed when the ignition is activated and your screen posts either "Racing" or Racing EVO".

I just acquired a used Termi full system with Upmap. Will the Upmap key still work on my bike? If not, can I get it reflashed so thst it does?

Thanks
Take it to the dealer.... unfortunately they are the only ones able to install the upmap....and if the seller did not remove the upmap from their bike you will have a blank upmap key

Are you sure? From what I have seen online it is plug and play. Pretty sure the map is on the USB as kit was removed by dealer.
It depends on the year. For later models, you have to use the dealer DDA device.

An anti privacy/no sharing thing.
Software removes original map from bike to usb then writes termi map to bike then erases it from USB.
Hopefully the seller reversed that process before passing it to you.

I know this is an old thread but thought I’d post up my experience in case someone has a similar issue in the future. I recently picked up a ‘13-‘14 multi with full termis and wanted to be certain that the corresponding map was downloaded. So i plugged the upmap key into the plug under the seat and downloaded the map that it showed was in the key (it was called “OMOLO.map” or something like that.. my research on google translate seems to indicate this may be the original OEM map). After it was downloaded, when I turned the bike on, I could hear the exhaust valve flapper motor whirring open and closed. I then plugged the upmap key in again and this time saw “RACEPERF.map” and downloaded that back in. With the race map downloaded, although there is no visible indication on the dash that the termi map is downloaded, there no longer was any flapper motor whirring at startup..

So i suppose an easy way to tell whether the map is downloaded would be the flapper whirring noise.
