Does anybody have pics of a 1000ds with the oilcooler mounted under instead of on top of the horizontal cylinder?
Im thinking of putting a monster s4 oilcooler on my bike and would like to see how it looks, have a feeling it would look bulky.

I assume it would look like the older bikes that had them mounted that way.

I've thought about exactly the same thing but perhaps running an upper and lower cooler in series.
I really like the look (size/shape)of the S4RS unit.
It would surely combat the high engine temps we see in Perth.
I will wait until I have completed the design and fabrication of my exhaust to ensure clearance.

Would running the cylindrical style oil coolers that dougb linked us to get rid of the need for the fans? Maybe with 2 of the tube style coolers running together? The look of those minus the chrome (not a big fan of unnecessary flash, i'll take the matte black please) is great to me. I've never liked the look of the oil coolers on any of Ducs naked bikes. Was once considering having one custom made and mounted under the tail like how Jesse Rooke has on this custom KTM cafe racer but that raised a few other issues for me so I nixed that idea...anyways....answers anyone?
