Hello--I have 95 900 ss/cr--Can anyone tell me where I can pick up a turn signal unit for my bike other than the dealer? i.e. napa-pep boys-auto advance....

Do you mean the turn signal relay? I think your on the right track, a relay from almost any auto parts store should work, just look at the connections. They all run on 12v and two bike turn signal bulbs are pretty low wattage.

On the post 99's, the relay is under the headlight just in front of the triple clamp. Easiest to reach under the headlight from the front, very accessible. I'm guessing the carbies are in the same area. I tried to cross reference it at NAPA, but I wasn't confident they had it right, so I spent the extra money at the dealer when I replaced mine. The electricals are already somewhat fragile on these things, I didn't think it was worth trying to save the few bucks.

You can find the relay at most auto parts stores. I took mine off and matched it up to a basic automotive relay. The terminal IDs of the new one even matched the stock relay. As for location; it's to the left of the headlight looking at the front of the bike. There are two relays, the frontmost is the main relay, and the one behind is the turn signal. You can access from underneath the nose fairing but I found it easiest to remove it for ease of access.

Go to Autozone or pep Boys and get a Trideant EL 12 variable load flasher. It is a 2 prong flasher. The stock flasher has 3 wires. The black wire is ground and is not needed with the EL 12. Just plug the 2 other wires (do not remember color) into the EL 12 and you are set. The flasher is located on the right in the front fairing; you can get to it without removing the fairing from underneath. The nice advantage to the EL 12 is that you can go with after market LED and it will flash at a normal rate without using load equalizers in your circuit.

The EL 12 works for all bikes with aftermarket directionals to maintain normal blinking rate and cost around $8.00 !!!!

This is a great local solution for replacing the Guilera flasher relay. I wish I had known this years ago. It was more difficult to install than a square unit, but still able to get at it if you "hold your tongue just right".

Updated Info: Tridon EL12 is now about $12 at AutoZone. Not able to find at O'Rielley's, Pep Boys, or Advanced in my neighborhood.
