In June, Troy Bayliss tested a V8 Supercar as raced in the Australia national championship series of the same name. At the it was widely reported how Bayliss enjoyed the event and how the team were impressed with his control and precision but not that he was just 2/10ths of second slower than a 3 time Australian V8 Supercar champion. Details here.

That is pretty impressive considering that Troy was never known for car driving skill. He embarrassed himself (and Australia) in ROC event this year.

All I can say is "GO Bayliss". I have been lucky enough to attend an Australian V8 supercar race at Sufer's Paradise over the Indy car weekend. It was awesome. Those things are way faster and better( more technical) than the Crapcar's ( NASCAR) over here.
