Hey all-
I picked up the above mentioned top box and mount for my ‘16 1200S. Reason being I was not a fan of the large plastic box versions and when my wife and I did a tour on the enduro pro with the aluminum top box she liked the useability and back support. Now, I’m not completely sold on the look but functionality was what I was after and other than the few times she goes with me or I need the space it’s probably going to collect dust in the garage. But I’ve searched far and wide and it seems that other than one person on YouTube no one else has done this setup. So my question is if anyone has installed this setup did you find any difficulty in having the rack system line up properly? I had a hell of time installing it and I’m still not happy with the end result. It just won’t seem to align properly. The rails that attach to the subframe fit fine on the left side but the right side is really problematic. I left everything super loose to adjust for fit but the big issue lies in the lining up of the rack, top plate and supports. There’s way too much tension and snugging up the bolts is not going to happen and there’s is space between the three different pieces. I know a picture would help and I’ll try and get one later but I’m not near the bike currently. So has anyone here installed this and have any insights?
