I am installing some new CycleCat clipons on my CR. Hit a bump in the road with the triple clamp. The ignition switch is attached to the triple but there are some weird cone shaped bolts attaching it with female threaded holes but no visible hex or bolt for unscrewing. Haynes nor the shop manual address how to remove the ignition switch, and I don't think I have enough slack in the wire harness to pull the triple over the forks. Anyone with experience on this?

I came across this too and found a helpful thread on here that gave me the following tip. Take a dremel tool with a cutting disc and cut a slot in them. Then use a big screw driver and unscrew them. Replace them with standard button head hex bolts.

After further inspection, they appear to be threaded all of the way through so maybe you could put a bolt in them with a nut to lock it down and then back them out.

I'll try this if the wires are not long enough to stretch over the fork.

You should be able to get it over the forks with the ignition still attached. You may have to cut a cable tie here and there. I installed Cycle Cats too but while my triple was off I had it powder coated for $30. Came out nice.
