I will be getting an 1198 in the near future. I ride street only, no track days, so I don't know if it'll be a Standard or "S" version. What would be the top three mods you have done or would do to this bike?

Slip-ons + DP ECU + PC V and custom tune. ~165 rwhp, 90+ rwtq. Done.

Gearing, exhaust, PC-V, Air fliter, dyno tune, set up the suspension for your weight, and set the sag also, just the same shit you should do to every bike????????????

I've heard changing the gearing is not really as necessary with the 1198's than with previous Ducs.

Yes to 1. slipons or full 70 (I did slip ons and kicks ass), and 2. of course clutch cover mod, 3. double bubble or "zero gravity" taller windscreen.

1. lower gearing, I´d choose 14T front. (all ducs benefit from this)
2. Open the exhaust, how is your choice.. I like termis full 70mm system myself, since it comes with open airfilter and DP ECU.
3. DP Seat, because the stock one is so slippery you might fall of the bike!

Setting up the suspension isn´t a modification in my book, besides it doesn´t cost anything. That is ofcourse your FIRST move before anything else.

After that there is TONS to do..
