this is for those in the SF Bay Area or knowledge of it.
I live in SF now and have always ordered my tires from cycle gear and had them installed them as well.

I am thinking about ordering online, but I don't know where to have them installed.

I can take the wheels off and drop them off with the new tires.

Any and all recommendations appreciated.

I believe Subterranean Cycles in SF has big tire sales. City Bike a free monthly local paper will have info.

If you can take the wheels off than you can save $$$$ and pay $15 per wheel at Road Rider in San Jose.

Rim chips finally forced me to begin to change my own.
Car rim, tire irons, etc.
Lots of info online.
Not such a major job when you finally break the tire-changing code.
