I installed a Throttle Tamer and found references in the workshop manual to greasing the cable end:
"Apply the recommended grease to the end of the throttle cable." The illustration says "Grease B".
"To avoid problems, grease the ends of all control cables with the recommended grease at regular intervals."

When I took the cover off the twistgrip housing it was dry. It never had any grease in there. And the throttle action has always been smooth. Even the illustation in the manual shows a dry cable and groove. So grease or no grease?

Cable Life lubricant is a favorite of mine. It seems to last for a very long time also.

Have a good one.
