on the SF? i currently have an 07 triumph speed triple, just wondering what everyone is thinking about them so far, what are some things that you cant stand about it and what are things that you love?

i am seriously thinking about dumping the S3 for the SF, also wondering for the people that have ridden/ owned a speed what are your thoughts about comparing the two, i already know the SF is going to be faster, but im curious as to how you feel it performs in the comfort department and the overall street ridding of it.

thanks in advanced.

I sold my Triumph Street Triple after one test ride on the SF. I bought the Street over the Speed for the lightness and handling. The SF felt just as nimble with better power and brakes. Not quite as comfortable yet still good. I'll let you know more when I get my SF, should be in the next couple days. :D

LOL,

I did the same thing with my 07 Tuono, I just got my SF this afternoon after 3 test rides. It is def different and will take a little getting used to, but the Duc is really amazing, and it WILL make me a better rider.

sigh......thats not what i wanted to read......lol (i really did want to read it) guess that means as soon as the local dealer gets one in i will have to go test one out. i love the speedy but ever since the rumors started flying around about this bike i have wanted one.

I have endured the multitude of posts these last few months and last weekend I rode North to NPR Ducati and did the test ride. Now I wait for a Red S to arrive so that I can continue the ride. I posted a test ride review on the LT's Desmo blog if anyone cares to read it. (http://desmotimes.com/blog/?p=1846). I just hope I can continue to ride both my S2R1k and the SFs without shunning the S2R... That's sort of what the S2R did to my ST3s. Hopefully I wont have to wait too long for one to be available. I wanted to wait and make sure I was serious. The test ride put me over the edge. Thanks to Paul and the good folks at NPR Ducati, Watkinsville, GA (just shy of Athens)

Chris,

Probably a nicer ride for you. I need to take a secondary road to Macon. That jaunt on I-75 was not fun. Paul is waiting to hear back from DNA, once he gets a VIN, I will be up there that weekend... this weekend? Maybe, next weekend, Maybe. Just depends on the fork leg deal from what I understand. I will say one thing, if you are going to test ride ANY bike. Go to a dealer that is not in a metro area and you will benefit from roads that are seconds away from the dealer. In NPR's case, you are in the area where if you pause long enough and take in the air, you'd swear you could smell dragon droppings. Strange.

Bill,
Hopefully not a long wait, did Paul take you out on some of the local roads?? I was actually waffling on getting mine that I'd been waiting months for, 5 minutes on some of the area roads and I was sold on it. Stayed out about 30 minutes!!

Best route for us is actually 85 north I 20 west, but I'll probably go back roads wed since I'm riding up.

Chris,

I rode up US 129 out of Macon. It takes you right to the dealer practically! Nice secondary roads all the way. Like if you took US 80, to GA 96 east into Macon then jumped on 129 north. I could probably take US 19 up to US 80/Ga 96. Anything to stay off the slab.

Yes, we did the back roads near the dealership. I would have either got lost or been preoccupied with "where the hell am I" if he had not escorted me. And the really big plus was he was good enough to tap the brakes when we came into slow spots from high speed. I need to thank him for that. It really let you concentrate on the bike and not what's up ahead.

Only thing I would do different is not wear my ear plugs. My S2R is louder than the SFs with the Termi's. Go figure. I use it to ward off deer with pure evil that it must sound like... if I were a deer that is, otherwise I liken it more to a lion purring! And that 1098 sounded nice. Not sure I want to put anything after market on it just so soon... I mean we only just met.
