Hey All,
Soon I'm going to be repainting my steel swingarm on my 96 900SS/CR because it has a few small rust spots that I want to take care of before they get worse. My question is how do I remove the rubber chain guide/guard on top of the right side arm without damaging it?

I'm sure there's a simple answer (probably, just pops off and pops back on) but I'l like to be sure before I end up buying a new one because I did something wrong.

Thanks in advanced for the help!!!

Not sure if the steel swing arm is any different than the aluminum. On the aluminum one you remove two screws. One on the side and one on top. Then it just comes right off.

Here's a drawing copied from bikebandit. It's is pretty much right out of Ducatis parts fiche.

Here's a drawing of a steel swing arm. Looks to be the same. Not sure exactly what part you're asking about, but you can see everything in these two pics

That was it. One screw was out of sight - hidden by the rear hugger and the other covered with gook! Time to stamp a big 'L' on my forehead!!!

Thanks!
