Sachsenring Moto GP Thread ***Spoiler***

Biggest news was Jorge showing up on full crutches and limping around at the pre race press conference.. Apparently he stretched some ligaments in his ankle. He is not sure how his weekend will go until he gets on the bike tomorrow.

that qualifying session was a really good watch..

before the rain started to die down , I really thought that Bradl was gonna be on pole...

pretty darn exciting one to watch really...
good stuff...

Stoner is a master at letting the bike move around under him freely..
tomorrow should be a good race..

Nothing wrong with calling it as you see it... not enough of it around these day
But didn't Stoner help create this situation ?

He was running Michelins ? ,... complained he couldn't win on them against the Stone's, broke his contract and then the next year Stones became a "spec" tire ?

be careful what you wish for Casey

His arrogance of not willing to accept that Dani was faster this day is what lead to his downfall, I'm sure he'll blame somebody for it.

.... but he will probably still win the championship this year

Stoner has the freedom to say exactly what he thinks, because he is leaving. However, it would be better to go out as champion ... So, Casey, no more win-it-or-bin-it moves, please (until end of season and they are necessary).

Crutchy had Ben's seat for sure until he ran off; so what does Yamaha do with that second seat now? Dovi deserves it, but he's an old name, not an up and comer - and that's not good for ratings (expect Espeleta and Gang to weigh in negatively). It would be best for fan interest if Crutchlow got a shot, despite today's goof.

In any case, absent a miracle - or as an easier alternative to a contract mash-up between Dovi/Cal, Spies will be gone. For a good part of the race it looked like he was circulating just trying to stay upright, with no confidence showing at all, especially in the first 4 turns. He just couldn't hold a good line and was slower than the Tech3 boys at each corner exit. He pulled it together towards the end and came on strong, but that was just too late.

I think Nicky deserves to stay at Ducati. The man tries hard at every round, and the way he spurs that Ducati the first half of the race gives the bike it's best work-out and development testing. I know that Ducati has been busy offering his seat to what seems like everyone (Scott Redding the latest), but I hope they come to their senses.

another thing...

seems like someone's ambition out-weighed their own talent today...

someone had to say it... :)

#44 ·
Umm, exsqueeze me: Casey didn't take anyone out.

Small but important distinction there.

That, and Casey's still the most talented of the lot.

Big distinction there.

to you... Zenmoto...that's how you see it...

I see it as Stoner could have just placed 2nd and been in the championship lead..

For a person's ambition to out way his talent, does another rider need to be involved in the crash? I say no....
over ambitious he was... to think that He would be able to keep up and pass Pedrosa...

Pedrosa had Stoner covered today... and on worn tires put in his fastest lap on the last lap.
I loved it.... Pedrosa had a little left in his own pocket at the end...

that's what GP is usually missing, and why I like MOTO2 so much...

I like watching Stoner race, and what happened is all part of the game... and I saw last year at Jerez the same...

and then the shit about the marshalls... today was an entertaining GP experience...

Hahahaha.... I take it Stoner doesn't like the Sachsenring.

"Fast corners, high speeds and a lot of wheelspin. That's what I enjoy about Mugello," said Stoner. "It's not a small dinky track.

"This track, this afternoon, I wouldn't have been on full throttle for more than a second at any one time due to the grip levels.

"It's frustrating to ride round at 20-30% throttle. It's nice to open it up."

Some of you blokes should get out there and try it and stop throwing shit at the blokes who are out there doing their best.
Some days are diamonds... that's racing and if it wasn't there would be no point in watching.
