Oh no...here we go again...
That's interesting because the projector style headlights don't bother me at all. It's the overall "business" of the design. To my eyes there's no "flow" to the design. I hated the "gills" on the nose fairing, whatever that little lens above both lights was and the raised panels on the side fairings. Not too fond of the "bread box" muffler either. But, hey, that's what individual taste is about, right? Since they did away with the gills and put black paint on the bike and muffler it looks less disjointed to me.kaos said:...but theres no mistake that the projecter style headlights are terblances idea.and they are what seems to divide peoples opinions.
Really, I'm not trying to stir things up. Rob responded to a post of mine on Ducati.net saying that Terblanche had alluded to his designs being compromised (my word) by Ducati. I just want to read the articles. I don't know, but I'm betting that Ducati wouldn't get too heavy handed with their critique of a Tamburini design. And, if Terblanche feels stongly enough to raise the issue publicly it must be significant. I'd love to know what he thinks an untampered 999 design should be. Wouldn't it be interesting if all of "our" dissatisfaction with Terblanche's designs has been misplaced?smegtheprez said:Oh no...here we go again...
I recall see in Cycleworld around the time the 999 was introduced a PT interview that Ducati management (in a cost cutting effort?) "compromised" some of PT design ideas. It's be foolish to think if you're a designer that you would get everything you want, and you should plan on contingencies.bruce19 said:Really, I'm not trying to stir things up. If anyone wants to come in here and call my bike ugly... get ready for the flames from HELL. As I will be expressing my opinion as well.
I am tired of people bashing my choice of bike...
... this always happens when Terblanche's name comes up.
Or better yet: come over and tell me my bike is UGLY in real life. I will give you a time and place where you can do it.

Yes I might ... and perhaps I may run into your sorry ass mini cooper as well (again) or perhaps one of your miserable old bikes.bevel450 said:Now go take that ugly, but well loved bike of yours out for a ride today.
