So I have a 2009 1100s, and I need to replace the tank. Do I need to remove the subframe? I'm to the point where that seems to be the only thing holding me back. The lower part of the tank where the battery goes is hitting on the rear of the subframe, and I just can't squeeze it past to get it to slide back off the front posts. Anybody remove their tank can give me some advice?

You must be missing something, once the tank has been loosened/detached from everything it comes right out.

Edit: Are you removing it because it has swollen from ethanol? If so I imagine a horribly swollen tank might be tough to remove?

Yea, the two rubber mounts in the front didn't seem like they wanted to come out, so I got a little persuasive with them. Tank came right out, new one went right in. Thanks guys.
