Was after some help from the mechanically minded. I am going to get the silver swing arm on my 1098 painted black. Have found a very highly recommended party to paint it, but apart from the easily removed parts, are not that confident removing an involved piece like the swing arm. How involved is it? Should I give it a go, or get a professional to do it for me? Your input would be greatly appreciated.:D

Have a read of the service manual first.

Grab the a copy of the 1098 Service Manual from rapidshare.

Removal of the swingarm is covered in section G5, page 239.

I'd suggest reading that first, then if you have the right tools and equipment for the job, decide if it's for you or not.
