I've just finished the mods on my SL4 today and putted it on the scale.

Result:159 kgs (350 lbs) with 4 ltrs of fuel, road legal with lights, mirrors etc...

Hmm...what do you think about it?
If there's no pictures, it didn't happen! ;)

Got a pic on my iphone. I'll put it here in the topic as soon as possible. Sorry but i'm a complete computer idiot ;)

Greetings

Chris,

If you get the motorcycle.com app for your phone it's fairly easy to add photos from your phone. No need to host images somewhere, you can select a pic from your Photo Album via the "advanced options" tab at the bottom of the page when you load your post. Not sure that was a good explanation...

Cheers,

Tom

So Chris please tell us what mods you made to drop the weight. The body work looks stock but is it sharkskinz or perhaps carbon? Did you do anu machining to gears or flywheel, aluminum clutch perhaps, what was your wheel choice, is that a composite tank?

I agree. Except for possibly lightweight wheels, I don't see much that would contribute to that much weight loss. Steel tank, stock full fairings, lights, instruments, rear fender, it all adds up. Isn't the 1100 motor heavier than the 900?
P.S. What's an "Ultraleggera"?

Ultraleggera means "Ultralight" ;)

So, lets have a closer look to the mods:

- BST Carbon fibre wheels
- Complete bodywork incl. fuel tank made of Carbon fibre
- M1100 engine with lightened gears, flywheel and some other stuff
- Lighter battery (A123 cells)
- Cable Clutch Conversion
- Öhlins front fork of the 999R
- Öhlins rear shock
- Front brakes of the 1098
- some other small parts made of Carbon, Titanium or Ergal.

The 1100 engine is lighter than the stock 900 one.

As you see there is a lot more weight to save...no magnesium engine covers, no carbon brake discs, no aluminum clutch yet, etc....

Other pictures will follow as soon as possible.

I guessed wrong on the engine covers and missed the carbon rims...I'm on a roll. Duc looks great! I'm jealous of the carbon bodywork...keep up the good work.

Regards,

Jeff
