my tire guy recommended the sc2, which he happens to have in stock, but when i rang a couple of weeks ago and spoke to one of the other guys there he recommended the sp's. i probably wouldn't notice the difference anyway but hoping to get an unbiased opinion on the difference between the two?

this is for my 916, i'm looking at weekend twisties and maybe a trackday, i'm not too worried about longevity more after grip.

thanks

the pirelli website says they're a track tyre that can be used on the road, what difference does a soft carcase make? suitable for carbon wheels? i thought they might help negate the stiffness of wheels.

In my opinion go with the sp tyres. It' s a safer choice since they made them for the road.

SC: heat cycles, slower warm-up (tire warmers recommended). For mostly street riding, I'd definitely go with the SP (or Rosso Corsa).

SP are more than anybody needs. They are exceptional tires. sc are for the track only.
