I had been bikeless for a while before the 848, so I expected to pay a high rate as a "new" rider. However, the year has turned, and my rates actually increased a bit ("statewide increase, it's not just your policy" they said).

So I feel the need to poll everyone to see what we're paying. I'm going to break it up by age demographic a bit, too:

Well, I can't seem to post multiple polls. Failboat, ducati.ms!

If you're willing, please post your age, your year/model, and your monthly insurance cost. I'll start:

33, 2011 848, $248/mo Full Coverage w/PIP and Uninsured Motorist, Clear Record

2005 999. It was $40/mo for full coverage until one claim. It's about $90/month.
You really must want your bike to pay $248/month for insurance:eek:. That was my monthly payment on my 999.

08 848 and 08 Multi 1100S . . .

Each are under $300 for the YEAR w/ 100/300 liability, un-insured, under-insured, comp, and collision.

I'm 36 w/ a clean record.

Where you live and your age can make a huge difference.

With State Farm, if you're 24 or younger, the rate is significantly higher.

23 years old one crash 3 years ago and one ticket still counting against me and I pay 96 a month for my 2011 1198. And for some reason I'm paying 290 a month for a 2005 F350.

Edit: same full coverage for both.

I can afford it, but I'd rather not pay it. There's a Cayman S with my name on it, ya know?

43, 1998 748, Full Coverage. Monthly cost is $23.83. I do receive some discounts because I have 2 cars and a house insured with the same company, It's garaged, and I paid in full instead of doing monthly payments. This is through Safeco Insurance. The agent is listed as "Insurance Answer Center LLC". No crashes. No tickets. PIP was an extra $150. I rejected it because I have Medical benefits, as well as 100% pay on short term disability. I had been bikeless for about 18 years, but had 2 other motorcycles in the past and had previously had a MC endorsement on my drivers license.

Well, as an update, I got a referral from my local Ducati shop (Ducati Austin - Austin, Texas), and they're working on new quotes. I have already found that Geico will beat my current rate handily with $143/mo (1633/12mo), and continue to search.

I'm 42 with excellent driving record I have a 2010 1198 Corse I'm paying $1200 for just liability coverage. If I want full coverage it will be $6500.00 I pay insurance and I don't even ride it anymore. This is because I live in a certain zip code.

I might sell it soon and just do track day only on my 1098. I think it's much healthier for me.

23, 1999 748 mono, about $95/mo with 2 tickets on record still. I think its high, but not anymore!!! They told me it would go down with an endorsement, and even lower with classes and anti theft devices. $6500 a year for full coverage??!! Where do you live so that I never move to there?
