Does anyone know what's holding the 'backrest' thing on the passenger cover? Is it just glue?...I see no bolts. I'd like to pull it off and put it on my aftermarket monoposto (which CarbonDry says to do so it should fit...'should' lol). Or should I just order one? How destructive to the original piece would it be to remove it?

If it's glue, sometimes that's good, and sometimes that's bad...

Thanks man, I'll give it a try when I get home from work. Velcro would definitely be convenient:)

Seems to be totally different on 1098. I'm guessing glue, but all I know is I'd destroy it if I used any more force, so I'll have to do a bit more research. Or just leave it and build one for my mono tail.

Any idea what to use as an initial mould on the carbon fiber that WON'T destroy the finish? I'd normally just use fiberglass after lubing the surface of what I'm trying to capture, but I wouldn't dream of that in this case cuz that is for replacing something that's broken (and I'm no expert in this, only ever done it when I had to). Maybe tape cardboard around it, and pour wax in (as in beeswax, that will cool in the right shape), remove the wax, then fiberglass that cast to use as a backing, and add gel and leather to form the seat? I could just velcro/hotglue it on from there...
